National Lorry Week, now in its sixth year, celebrates the vital and often-overlooked role the road transport industry has in our everyday lives. It runs from 24 to 30 October but we’ve launched our activities much earlier this year to make sure that National Lorry Week 2022 is bigger and better than ever before.
We’re asking as many people as possible to show their appreciation for the sector, the companies and workforce responsible for delivering 98% of our essential consumer goods such as food, medicine and more.
COVID19 has seen the industry work even harder with operators and drivers going the extra mile to make sure that supermarket shelves are stocked and the thousands of carers and NHS frontline staff are equipped with the all-important PPE.
The UK logistics industry does an outstanding job, keeping the country fed, safe and moving.
National Lorry Week provides the perfect opportunity for the nation to say ‘thank you’ to these unsung haulage heroes.
On Thursday 19 November at 8pm we want you to Shine A Light for the logistics industry – for the truck drivers, warehouse staff, managers, technicians, mechanics, fitters etc. The ones that keep this great industry on the road. Please do all you can to spread the word. Whether you shine a light on your building with your workforce or stand on your doorstep with your family and a torch. Wherever you are, shine a light to say thank you.
