What is a Pallet?

A pallet is a flat transportable structure made generally from wood, occasionally plastic, designed to support a variety of goods giving stability to the item whilst in transit.

How do I secure my item to the pallet?

Goods must be palletised by being placed securely on the pallet using strapping or shrink wrap.

What is your palletising Service?

For an additional £25+ vat, we can provide an empty pallet on collection.

What size pallets are there?

Please refer to our illustration on the home page to find out Pallet sizes.

How do you get the pallet on to the vehicle?

All collection and delivery vehicles carry pallet trucks and the vehicles are fitted with tail lifts. The driver will move the pallet onto the tail lift of the vehicle using the pallet truck and ensure the pallet is safely placed on the vehicle.

What Information do I need to provide when arranging a collection & delivery?

You will need to provide the dimensions of the item you wish to send and the approximate weight. We will also need the full collection and delivery address, telephone number and point of contact for both collection and delivery.

Do I need to put an address label on my pallet?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an email which will contain all the details of your shipment. We recommend printing this out and attaching it to your consignment. The driver will bring further details on collection.

What time will my collection be made?

The price paid is for one collection / delivery attempt. Commercial vehicles are not cheap to run and if the goods are not ready for collection, an additional charge may be made.

What happens if I miss my collection/delivery?

The price paid is for one collection / delivery attempt. Commercial vehicles are not cheap to run and if the goods are not ready for collection, an additional charge may be made.

Are there delivery restrictions?

Deliveries cannot be made on to soft ground such as grass, gravel or soil, to a premises where it is illegal for a lorry to park or unload. The delivery is kerbside only, the driver will not be able to take the pallet inside the premises. If you are in any doubt of the suitability of the delivery premises please contact us and we can advise you.

How can I track my pallet?

Once your order is processed you will receive an email with your consignment number. You can use this through the PalletToSend.co.uk website, along with your destination postcode to track your pallet’s progress.

What happens when my delivery arrives?

When your goods are delivered, the person responsible for accepting and signing for the goods should make a examination of goods to check for damage, If any shortage or damage is apparent or suspected, the delivery note should be endorsed accordingly using the word “damaged” or “Shortage” or “Goods missing, the word “unchecked” or similar is not accepted as claused proof of delivery.

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order anytime but there are 3 stages for any surcharge that may apply
1a Cancel before we have manifested, no charge
2a Cancel after we have manifested and sent you confirmation, 10% admin charge
3a Cancel after the carrier has left the depot to collect, 10% plus carriers collection charge

Is the service guaranteed?

Unfortunately in transport things can happen that are totally out of our control. Although 99% of deliveries are delivered on time, the odd 1% is late. We unfortunately cannot be held responsible for the late delivery of pallets
