Established in 2004 we are a multi-site operation and have established bases in Leicester, Bardon & St Albans. We are specialists in UK and European palletised distribution and warehousing. We collect over 1000 pallets a day from customers across the UK.

Business Development Managers X 2

Midlands and M4 Corridor/Thames Valley

Our unrivalled expansion has led to two exciting opportunities for experienced Business Development Managers. Reporting to the Head of Sales, these roles will require individuals who not only have a thirst for driving our sales forward, but can escalate us on our journey of growth. Applicants are advised that these roles will focus on all aspects of third party logistics including pallet sales, full load transport and warehousing. These roles will be based at our Bardon site in Leicestershire and our Thatcham site in Berkshire but will require the successful candidates to generate sales across the entire Premier Logistics Group.

The successful candidate will:

  • Win new business, with particular focus on winning significant first tier Contract Business
  • Acquire new tender opportunities
  • Identify new areas of business
  • Cross sell our services, ensuring revenue is generated for each of our sites
  • Agree sales revenue targets with the Head of Sales
  • Set up business meetings and manage a healthy sales pipeline
  • Plan and prepare presentations to clients
  • Write reports and ensure central CRM database is maintained
  • Provide management with feedback and market intelligence

The successful candidate will possess proven, demonstrable experience in the aforementioned areas, together with the ability to make a tangible difference. Candidates must be customer-focussed, highly presentable and capable of being a ‘self-starter’. Coupled with this, proven experience within the logistics sector is an essential requirement for position.

Drivers – Class C&E

Here at Premier Logistics, we’re going to the places people want to be. Testimony to this is the rapid expansion of 1 to 5 sites, numerous blue-chip clients and a Driver Training Programme which is the envy of our competitors! Due to rapidly expanding workloads and new customers, we are looking to immediately increase our driver base. All opportunities will be based will be based at our Bardon site.

Class 1 Drivers

Class 1 Drivers will be required to:

  • Undertake nationwide deliveries
  • Undertake mainly curtain side work
  • No handballing
  • Operate hand held terminals

Class 2 Drivers

Class 2 Drivers will be required to undertake:

  • C and D work
  • Delivery to customers’ premises and residence
  • Average 15 deliveries and 7 collections per day
  • Liaise with the customer
  • An element of hand balling

Candidates will be expected to have a good knowledge of the Leicester and CV postcodes.

Drivers will have a C and E Licence, Digi’ Tacho Card, CPC Card and a maximum of 6 points on their Licence.

Transport Planner/Controller Bardon

We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Planner and Traffic Controller, based at the Bardon Hill site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Transport, the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of duties, including:

  • Route planning throughout the country
  • Briefing and debriefing drivers
  • Liaising and negotiating with different parties
  • Completing all relevant documentation
  • The efficient planning of vehicles
  • Ensuring resources are utilised as efficiently as possible
  • Providing customers with updates on deliveries
  • Providing solutions to any problems

The successful candidate must possess transport experience within a busy transport environment, together with the ability to communicate clearly. In addition, the candidate must be able to work under pressure and at pace. We are looking for strong customer skills and the ability to make a positive contribution to the transport team. The successful candidate must be computer literate, and be able to use Microsoft excel and other computer applications.

These roles will entail working Monday to Friday, and will entail working rotating shifts
